Mr. Daryl H. Scales

Enterprise Rental Car, Vice President of Finance UK/Ireland

Daryl Scales

A native of St. Louis, MO, Daryl studied at the University of Missouri, graduating in 1984 from the Business School with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy. Daryl recalls one of his most memorable moments was his graduation - an event that brought to close four very enjoyable years of study comprising many laughs and a lot of hard work.

Since this time, Daryl has carved a very successful career with Enterprise Rent-A-Car.  He joined Enterprise in 1986 as a Group Auditor in the corporate office based in St. Louis, before, opening Enterprise's operation in New York City as a Regional Controller in 1988. Then in 1994 Daryl returned to the corporate office as a Corporate Business Manager. As a Corporate Business Manager Daryl not only worked with all the business managers in a specific territory within the US, he was also responsible for project management for a number of information system initiatives, as well as overseeing other new corporate initiatives and their successful rollout to the company's 100 plus divisions.

Daryl was promoted to Assistant Vice President- Business Management in 1996. Daryl is one of the original Enterprise employees who relocated to London to open Enterprise's first oversees corporate office in September 1997.  In February 2005 Daryl was promoted to Vice President – Finance UK/Ireland.

The staff and students of the Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center are proud of the accomplishments of Mr. Daryl Scales and look to him as a success story for future generations of Black students at the University of Missouri. Daryl has not forgotten where he came from and in 2009 answered the call from the GOBCC for donations from Black alums with a generous gift of $4,000.
